About Our Cattle  The Babysitter

Our stocker operation involves buying weaned calves weighing around 450 pounds and growing them out to 750 pounds.  And at which point they can be sold to the western feedlots, or ownership retained on through the feeding phase.  By utilizing commodity contracts, puts, and calls, we are able to take out most of the risk associated with market volatility.  Stocker Cattle are a great alternative investment as part of an overall investment portfolio.   The key to our brood cow herd's profitability is to keep a watchful eye on input costs, while maintaining adequate flesh on the stock.
